Driven to the brink of madness by the merciless lashings of its vile Orc overlords, there lumbered forth a Cave Troll, a behemoth of dim wits yet endowed with the strength of a legion. Its skin was nigh impervious to weapons forged of iron, a testament to the unforgiving nature of the dark places of the world where it dwelt. Clutched within its colossal three-fingered grasp was a mighty stone hammer, a fearsome instrument of destruction that it wielded with blind fury. With each thunderous swing, friend and foe alike were laid low, crushed beneath the indiscriminate wrath of the beast as it stormed through the chaotic melee, seeking out its quarry with a relentless fervour that echoed the darkness of its masters' hearts.
The Cave Troll was the first creature to be designed for the iconic film trilogy, and Weta Workshop sculptor Jamie Beswarick played a key role in its overall design. In those early days, the look and feel of Middle-earth's inhabitants were still being defined, with artists encouraged to envision not only their appearances but also their habits and histories. This approach aimed to develop a level of authenticity that went beyond the typical fantasy genre.
Consequently, these lumbering giants were endowed with thick hides, three-fingered hands, powerful jaws, and claws suited for digging. It was these defining characteristics that Jamie Beswarick was once again tasked with recreating, this time in miniature form. By capturing the raw strength and ferocity of such a creature, and infusing each detail with untamed wrath and fury, our incredible team has managed to capture the very essence of this behemoth.
Perfectly sized for easy display and ideal for any desktop or bookshelf, this Cave Troll miniature statue would be an excellent addition to your Weta Workshop collection.
- Made primarily from polystone to ensure detail retention;
- Approx 6.2 inches tall;
- Depicts the Cave Troll seen within the Mines of Moria during The Fellowship of the Ring;
- Physically sculpted by Weta Workshop veteran Jamie Beswarick, who also sculpted the design for the original film.

Preordering allows you to guarantee purchasing a product. Preorders will have an estimated release date, once the item is delivered to us by the manufacturer we will ship your order as soon as possible - please be aware that although we give release estimates given to us by the manufacturers these are subject to change and can mean delays to release by weeks or even months. Release delays can be viewed in the Updates section.

EU and International orders are sent complete once all items (including preorders, backorders and in stock items) are available. Please make separate orders if you would like items shipped at different times.

Please be aware that European and International orders may be subject to customs and import fees depending on the country’s import laws.

Most products that are preorders can either be paid in full or with a partial deposit. For partial deposits you will be charged the deposit amount shown, when the item(s) are available and the order is ready to be shipped we will contact by email with an invoice that will allow you to pay the remaining amount, which will be the price when the order was placed (even if the price has gone up between release we will charge the original 'Pay Now' price at the time of ordering) - we allow up to 14 days to pay the remaining balance of a preorder unless agreed otherwise by Hobby Figures.
